Vivaldi: Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 8 'L'estate' (Summer of the Four Seasons)
This is definitely not the prettiest rendition of this piece, but this is how I feel after reading today's news.
Vivaldi himself wrote a set of four sonnets to accompany his famous 'Four Seasons' concertos, giving very specific descriptions of what the music should represent. For this movement, he wrote:
'Alas his fears are so true!
The sky thunders, flares, and hailstones
Sever the heads of proud grain crops.'
