We mentioned that Telemann was godfather of one of J.S. Bach's sons - Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714 - 1788). Also known as the 'Berlin Bach' or the 'Hamburg Bach', Emanuel was a very prolific composer and harpsichord player, he enjoyed a much stronger reputation than his father. Emanuel was the foremost exponent in cultivating the 'empfindsamer Stil' or 'sensitive style'. His music was highly influential to that of Haydn and Beethoven. When Mozart said 'Bach is the father, we are the children', he was referring to CPE Bach.
