Buxtehude: Lauda anima mea Dominum, BuxWV 67
/Music of the 17th and 18th centuries/
A solo cantata by Dieterich Buxtehude (1637 - 1707), scored for soprano, two violins, violone, and continuo. The young JS Bach had much admiration for Buxtehude's works, and walked from Arnstadt to Lübeck, a distance of more than 400km, and stayed nearly three months to hear and meet the pre-eminent Buxtehude.
